In 2016, I became a moderator on the r/bravefrontier subreddit, enforcing rules, mediating conflict, and helping others on the subreddit. Shortly after my inauguration, the Brave Network Discord server was opened, which became a part of the Discord Partner program. After taking on more and more responsibilities, I was elected to an ownership position two years later, granting me a position in the Discord Partner program.
My experience eventually led me to become a moderator for the Azur Lane Official Discord server in July 2018. Here, I developed a bug report and feedback collection process in collaboration with Alessandro’s bot development skills in order to easily collect feedback from players; in addition to other server management and moderation duties. This server reached more than 20,000 members before I elected to step down in December, 2018 to pursue other interests.
Since then I have managed and moderated a variety of servers. As a Discord community manager, I provide specialized support for brands and projects that lack the internal resources and expertise for fostering and maintaining healthy communities on Discord. This includes the technical configuration and setup for the Discord server and bots, developing community policy and procedures, finding and managing community moderators, collecting and analyzing community sentiment and feedback, and escalating critical community input to inform companies’ PR strategies.
In addition, I have developed myself professionally by participating in the Discord staff managed Discord Moderator Discord where I networked with fellow moderators of large servers as well as Discord staff to stay on the cutting edge of Discord developments and issues while supporting fellow moderators. This has led me to contribute multiple articles to the official Discord Moderator Academy, which serves as a resource for moderators all across Discord to better manage their servers. So far my contributions include the following:
I have also written articles for Discord outside of the Discord Moderator Academy, including Best Practices for Running and Moderating Stage Channels and Setting up Your Discord Server - How to Get Started.
If you are interested in additional resources, and tools I've developed, you can also check out some more things I've made here.

During my time in the Brave Frontier community, I met Alessandro, a community member that agreed to develop a custom Discord bot to help administer the Brave Network Discord server. This private bot eventually became the feature rich, public and officially Verified Discord bot that is known as GiselleBot (more info about the current capabilities of GiselleBot can be found on her dedicated page).
Alessandro has been developing GiselleBot since September, 2017, making him a trustworthy source of knowledge when it comes to the capabilities of enhancing Discord communities through the use of bots, and a very skilled and efficient developer. With the introduction of the official Discord bot Verification Program in April, 2020, Alessandro obtained his Verified Bot Developer badge thanks to the Privacy By Design approach that was followed in developing, implementing and managing GiselleBot.
Alessandro specialized in designing and engineering security architectures for Telecommunications and Media industry clients. His experience made him work closely together with big actors within the IT scenario: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Services, Oracle, Dynatrace, and more.
The need to balance his daily job with the nightly development "hobby" eventually required a change in how his development and management efforts were spent. Nowadays, GiselleBot and her custom forks are running on an infrastructure that took advantage of the professional, resilient and secure design that Alessandro would use for one of his clients, resulting in a very stable and scale-proof bot.
Alessandro has been, and still is, a trusted partner and is always ready to put all of his efforts into providing the best user experience to his clients, being them large enterprises or individual community members.
